I’m a proud father of two amazing girls and husband to an equally amazing woman. When I’m not at the shop, you’ll probably find me camping, taking a road trip, or just hanging out with my family. I’m a big fan of traveling, learning new things (about pretty much everything) and hoping to one day graduate from a Tequila Aficionado to a Tequila Connoisseur. Whether it’s a weekend adventure or just spending quality time with loved ones, I believe in making the most of life both in and out of the garage.
My Journey
I started my career in the automotive industry over 20 years ago as a lube technician — changing oil, tires, and performing basic maintenance tasks day in and day out. Like many who start from the ground up, it was hard work. But over time, what started as a job quickly became a passion. I began taking the industry more seriously and enrolled in courses focused on engine performance, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and more. I was determined to grow — and I did.
As my technical skills expanded, so did my roles. I worked at various shops, gaining experience not just as a technician, but also as a service writer, sharpening my communication and customer service skills. Eventually, I became a shop foreman, where I had the privilege of leading a team of technicians and taking responsibility for the quality of work that left the shop. That leadership experience prepared me for the next big step: management.
In management, I learned how to run an efficient shop — hiring and training employees, building strong customer relationships, managing parts and labor costs, and ensuring day-to-day operations flowed smoothly. But perhaps the most eye-opening chapter came when I became a regional manager, overseeing 10 locations for a large automotive franchisee. That role took me all over the Bay Area and gave me a deep understanding of the industry not just as a trade, but as a business.
I saw firsthand what makes a shop successful beyond technical skill: investing in your team, building trust with customers, and creating a culture where quality and integrity come first. I learned how to read P&Ls, manage vendor relationships, optimize workflow, and maintain profitability — all without losing sight of what matters most: people.Technicians, service advisors, and customers alike — they are the heart of this industry.
After years of being constantly on the road, I realized I wanted something different. I wanted to slow things down and have more family time.
In late 2019, the opportunity presented itself. Marcel Etcheverry, the longtime owner of Marin Auto Works — a shop I had known and respected for many years — was looking for an experienced technician. I joined the team, and from day one, I knew it was the right fit. For five years, I had the privilege of working alongside Marcel and learning the unique culture and legacy that the Etcheverry family had built since 1992.
Then, in 2025, Marcel made the decision to retire — and he offered me the greatest honor of my career: the chance to carry on that legacy as the new owner of Marin Auto Works.
Today, I stand behind the same values that built this shop — honesty, precision, and genuine care for our customers. I’m committed to bringing both the time-tested traditions of Marin Auto Works and fresh insight from a lifetime in the industry. My mission is simple: to deliver expert, reliable auto repair with the kind of personal service that makes you feel like family.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I look forward to earning your trust and taking great care of you and your vehicle — for years to come.
